Entertainment in Lake Las Vegas
Things to do in Lake Las Vegas
Lake Las Vegas, located in The City of Henderson, Nevada, just 20 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, is a popular vacation and resort spot. Though so close to the casino capital of the world, Lake Las Vegas offers a much different type of entertainment.
Lake Las Vegas is a man made lake constructed in the early 1990’s. It’s developer, Ron Boedekker, envisioned a luxury resort to rival all vacation destinations in the world. His Mediterranean styled resort, makes anyone feel as though they stepped directly out of the noisy, showy Las Vegas Strip and into a peaceful, quiet, Italian retreat.
Luxury Resorts
There are three major luxury resort hotels at Lake Las Vegas. The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa features amenities fit for royalty. Fun in the water is a must with the outdoor pool or private beach. A variety of fine dining choices are available. The Sandsabar and Grill is actually a poolside restaurant with indoor or outdoor seating available. For the health conscious, a health club provides exercise equipment, saunas, and yoga classes. The hotel provides a number or recreational options as well. Sailing, wind surfing, basketball, and bicycle rentals are just a few in the long list of activities available at the Westin. Lastly, for the needed relaxation, spa services include a variety of massages, manicures and pedicures, body wraps, and facial treatments.
Similar spa services are available at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa as well. At the Hilton, full hair salon services are also available. The third resort, The Aston Montelago Village Resort, also features comparable amenities. In addition, it provides two heated pools for it’s guests. The Montelago Village, nearby the Aston, provides even more entertainment opportunities.
The Village
The Village in Lake Las Vegas is a quaint area full of enough unique boutiques to satisfy anyone’s shopping need. For the fine diners, a variety of upscale restaurants are also available. After a day of shopping and dining, one can relax for the evening with Lakeside Music in the evenings, featuring live bands every Saturday night.
Lake Activities
However, Lake Las Vegas has much more to offer than shopping and food. Activities centered around the 320 acre fresh water lake are many. The area offers a full service marina with numerous watercraft rentals available for those who want to float around the lake in a pontoon, traverse the lake in a paddle boat, cruise on a yacht, or use an electric boat. Not to mention, the lake is stocked with bass, trout, catfish, and other varieties for the avid fisherman. For those vacationing with their special someone, a romantic gondola ride in the true Italian style with the gondolier serenading his passengers, can be rented as well. Aside from any boating and water activities, Lake Las Vegas also has features for those who have more fun on land.
